What’s the difference between Campaigns Sales and the sales log?
On your main Campaigns Dashboard you’ll see a Sales stat that looks like this …
If you hover over the word Sales (or the name of any other stat) you can learn exactly what it means …
And in this case, you’ll see that Sales represents “the number of initial and backend Sales tracked,” and that for the purposes of this stat “An initial sale and an upsell is treated as a single sale, and recurring payments are excluded.”
So it’s important to note that the number you see here does not include every single sale you’ve made, but rather, it tells you how many people have made a purchase during the time period selected.
This is the number that is used when calculating some of your other stats, like your sales conversion rate for example, which is the number of people who’ve made a purchase divided by the number of people who visited your website.
When you view your sales log however, all sales are listed – including things like upsells and recurring sales.
So if you have these types of sales, it’s normal that the number of entries in your sales log will be greater than what the Sales stat says on your dashboard.
