What types of things can’t I promote with ClickMagick?
Our mission is to help legitimate marketers, who provide real value, grow their businesses. With that in mind, there are specific types of sites and other content you can’t promote with ClickMagick:
| — | Adult/hook up/porn sites. We have nothing against porn, we just don’t want to be associated with the fraud in this niche. If there are naked bodies, it’s not allowed. Legitimate, mainstream dating sites are fine. |
| — | Bitcoin/cryptocurrency scams. These are popping up all over the place, and generally promise overnight riches or even free bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. The “powers that be” are really cracking down on these crypto offers and we simply can’t be associated with these types of offers. Example |
| — | “Claim your free money” scams. You may not promote anything that claims or suggests that money has been sent to the user, the user has money waiting to be collected, the user has deposits to claim, or anything even remotely close – unless it’s true. Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Example 4 |
| — | Deceptive use of third-party images. You may not deceptively use logos or favicons from any site you don’t own – Facebook, PayPal, Instagram, etc. – on your own pages. Example |
| — | “Endless opt-in” funnels. These are funnels where a user enters their email on an opt-in form, but instead of receiving what was promised they’re presented with a new opt-in form for something else, and this just keeps repeating over and over. These cause end-users to be unknowingly subscribed to multiple lists owned by different people, which results in almost worthless leads and lots of spam complaints. |
| — | Fake News Sites. As a marketer you might consider these to just be "aggressive" marketing, but the FTC, Google, Facebook and the rest of the world considers these to be outright scams and we simply can't have ClickMagick associated with these types of promotions. Example |
| — | Fake or Deceptive Prizes & Gifts. You may not tell the user they’ve won a prize or free gift unless it’s actually true. This also includes “free gift card” or other similar offers that require the user to make multiple purchases (usually costing more than the “prize” itself) in order to receive the “prize.” Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 |
| — | Fraudulent websites or offers. This includes anything that is clearly fraudulent or illegal e.g. anything related to hacking, stealing of paid content, software piracy, etc. Example |
| — | Malware/phishing scams. Hopefully this should be pretty obvious. These are illegal. |
What happens if I promote any of these things?
Please note that we manually review EVERY URL entered into our system.
And if you add a link to a page that contains any of the prohibited content detailed above, we’ll simply delete that Tracking Link or Rotator URL from your account and send you an email with all the details.
And don’t worry – in the case of a rotator, if you add a link to prohibited content as a rotator Backup URL or Mobile URL, we’ll simply change the URL to google.com rather than deleting your entire rotator.
However, please note that both repeat and egregious violations will put your account in jeopardy.
If you continue to add links to prohibited content after being warned, or blatantly add links to phishing sites or malware for example, then you’ll almost certainly find that your account will be cancelled.
What if I’m sending traffic to pages that I don’t control or I’m selling “solo ads?”
Ultimately you’re responsible for the websites and content that you redirect traffic to using ClickMagick Tracking Links and Rotators, regardless if you actually own the website or content yourself.
If you’re selling “solo ads” for example, you’ll want to make sure you manually review every URL you enter into ClickMagick and make sure it doesn’t contain any of the prohibited content listed above.
Tip #1: If you’re using an anonymous VPN you might find that you’re blocked by certain other users from accessing their Tracking Links. In this case you’ll want to use a tool like RedirectCheck. Simply enter their tracking link and the tool will display their final Primary URL, which you can then test directly.
Tip #2: If you’re selling clicks and you’re worried about your clients changing the contents of their pages after you review them, we’d recommend you use a page monitoring service like Trackly or VisualPing that will alert you when a webpage changes. It’ll only take a few extra minutes a day to set up this type of monitoring.
What else should I know, and what if I have questions?
If your account is canceled for egregious violations of the prohibited content policy, we’ll also blocklist every custom domain and URL you’ve ever used – so you won’t be able to just create another account.
